We handle many planning applications for landowners on small to medium sites but in recent years the affordable housing requirements (either by direct provision or financial contribution) have increasingly affected the viability of these smaller schemes.
In a significant move to free up the planning system, the Government has announced that, for sites of 10 or less units, no affordable housing contributions should not be required.
This change was welcomed by the House Builders Federation as a “shot in the arm” for small and medium sized developers.
Our Planning Department has achieved a number of recent successes with applications for farmers and landowners including:
• Nine dwellings in Great Glen, Leicestershire
• One dwelling in Countesthorpe, Leicestershire
• Nine dwellings and one commercial unit in Lutterworth, Leicestershire
• Two dwellings in Clipston, Northamptonshire
Current Applications include :
• Twenty three residential dwellings in Countesthorpe, Leicestershire
• Up to two hundred and fifty residential dwellings in Ruddington, Nottinghamshire
• Seventeen residential dwellings in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire
