Historic Leicester church for sale

Leicestershire chartered surveyors Andrew Granger & Co have placed medieval St Peter’s Church in Belgrave on the market, with possible future uses including an art gallery or nursery.

For hundreds of years, the church was a landmark in the village of Belgrave, which is now part of Leicester, hidden away in a tranquil conservation area, surrounded by mature trees, just yards from the city’s bustling Golden Mile.

The beautiful Grade II listed, 12th century stone church has high medieval period Gothic architecture and a Victorian vestry.

For planning purposes, it is currently classed “D1”, and could be converted into a gallery, museum, nursery, health facility or similar non-residential use.

Rupert Harrison, a partner in Andrew Granger & Co’s Loughborough office, said: “The church is close to Leicester’s city centre with great transport links, and would make an excellent investment.”

St Peter’s is being offered for sale, with or without the churchyard, or potentially for let.

For further details or to arrange a viewing please call Andrew Granger & Co on 01509 243720.
