About the village of Spratton
A quintessential English village, Spratton is a charming place to live and offers a peaceful rural lifestyle but with all the local amenities right on your doorstep.

Spratton has one public house – the recently refurbished King’s Head on the Brixworth Road – which offers a traditional pub bar, coffee shop and a new dining experience in Brasserie 23. There is also a small village shop for essential supplies as well as Sauls of Spratton, a traditional award-winning family butchers run by the Sauls family since 1926 and offering a taste of Northamptonshire with their sausages, pies and bread.

For more extensive of shopping options, including a range of interesting boutiques and the recently re-furbished market, you can visit the bustling town of Market Harborough just 13 miles to the north of Spratton, which also has a series of cafes, restaurants and pubs. Alternatively, there are a number of larger supermarkets on the outskirts of Northampton, including Waitrose at Kingsthorpe less than 2 miles away.

Excellent Reputation
Spratton is well known in educational circles for Spratton Hall School, set on the north side of the village, which has an excellent reputation, while there is also a local Primary School which was awarded an OFSTED rating of ‘Good’ at the last inspection in 2013.

The village also benefits from a thriving local parish council and there are plenty of events on the calendar from garden clubs to cookery demonstrations, not forgetting the local youth club.
The parish church of Spratton is naturally also a hub of the community. St Andrews stands on the high ground in the centre of the village and has a tower with a spire. The earliest church on this site dates from 1120 but there were a number of updates in the mid 19th century to the current building.

A Beautiful County
Northamptonshire is home to some of the most beautiful countryside in England. There are miles of walks, beautiful country parks, canals and substantial areas of ancient woodland just waiting to be explored.

You can choose to step into the traditional rural lifestyle typified by Northamptonshire’s numerous pretty villages with their thatched cottages, country lanes and parish churches. However, the county also offers many modern attractions and facilities, including the accolade of hosting the British Formula One Grand Prix as well as other events, at Silverstone, just 20 miles south of Spratton.

Sport and Leisure
If motoracing is not your sport, then take time out to watch the Northampton Saints rugby team, football league teams or first class county cricket. You can also play one of the spectacular golf courses nearby or follow equestrian or country pursuits.

At Brixworth Country Park for example, just a 10 minute drive from Spratton, enjoy the reservoir at Pitsford Water and everything it has to offer – including walking, cycling, fishing, sailing and birdwatching. For a more elevated view of the area you can take the cycle path which follows the landscape of the Brampton Valley Way and stretches for 14 miles between Market Harborough and Northampton.
